Kannibal Hektor is an independent precious-metal artist working primarily in .999 fine silver. The work spans hand-cast bullion, mint-pressed art bars, sculptural objects, one-of-one pieces, and jewelry.
THE WORK
Kannibal Hektor began producing silver work in 2012, initially through hand-poured bullion and small-run bars. Over time, the work expanded into original dies, heraldic designs, sculpted forms, physical model making, and individually cast objects.
Each piece begins as an original design and is developed according to the needs of the object—sometimes poured by hand, sometimes pressed, sometimes sculpted digitally and translated into a physical model before casting.
The process has changed over the years. The emphasis has not: silver should retain evidence of how it was made.
MADE IN KINGSBURG
The work is produced and finished in Kingsburg, California.
Casting, striking, antiquing, polishing, assembly, and final inspection are performed in small runs or individually, depending on the piece. Variations left by casting and hand-finishing are treated as part of the object rather than defects to be erased.
FROM BULLION TO OBJECT
Early Kannibal Hektor work was rooted firmly in bullion: poured silver, stamped marks, serialized bars, and limited releases.
The current body of work continues to use precious metal as its foundation but increasingly treats silver as a sculptural material. Jewelry, ceremonial objects, one-of-one works, and the artifacts of Regni Profani extend the same practice beyond the conventional bar.
These newer pieces do not replace the earlier work. They are its continuation.
THE SILVER WORKS OF KANNIBAL HEKTOR
New work is released without a fixed schedule. Some designs return in continuing or editioned forms; others are produced once and permanently retired.
